Our approach to care is very thorough.  Each visit with us begins with a conversation about your overall state of wellness.  We want to know about your mouth, but we care about the rest of your body too.  If you are a person with a health condition, we can help you.  We are experts at working with other doctors to make sure you are receiving the best possible dental treatment based on your needs. 

Once we have a clear picture of your goals for your health and smile, we commence the physical portion of your exam.  We always begin with a head, neck and mouth screening for oral cancer.  We carry out a complete gum evaluation, TMJ screening, bite classification, intra-oral photographs, necessary x-rays and study models, if needed.  We complete a thorough survey of each tooth using a high-tech, intra-oral camera to tour your mouth.  We share any observations with you and take time to explain what we are learning about your mouth.  

If you are a new patient, we likely compile the information we have gathered and present you with the treatment options that we think will serve you best.  For continuing care patients we will constantly monitor your dental health to keep you smiling.

During your regular visits with your hygienist we measure your gum pockets, checking for periodontal disease.  We then remove plaque and tartar to help you prevent cavities, gingivitis and gum disease.  Finally, we polish your teeth, removing more plaque, tartar and mild surface stains.
